Leaf Crisping means that you introduce ample amounts of airflow over the outside of the flowers to crisp up the outer leaves quickly, while the inner flowers remain spongy
Leaf Crisping allows the trimmer to trim the outer leaves quickly, while maintaining the structure of the flower, and because the inside of the flower is still spongy, and not over dried, we can avoid any excess break down that trimming may cause.
35 Gallon – $1500
Over drying flowers prior to shucking or trimming will cause the flowers to occasionally break apart, effecting the quality and yield of your harvest. It is crucial when shucking, or trimming dried flowers, that you do so at the proper moisture level to avoid any excess breakdown of the flowers.
We recommend the plants are dried for 4-7 days in a controlled environment and are shucked when the ambient humidity reaches around 55%. At this point, the outside of the flowers should be slightly crispy and the inside of the flowers should be fairly moist and spongy. When this drying process is complete and the proper moisture level is attained, we recommend you immediately shuck the flowers from the stem. We then place the shucked flowers into our leaf crisper to prep them for trimming.

The Leaf Crisper utilizes a 35 gallon fiber container, an 1150 CFM inline fan with adjustable speed controller, a stainless steel mesh screen, and a programmable timer to produce controlled drying of the flowers outer leaves. The air is pulled up from the bottom of the container where the moisture settles and around the flowers at a very high CFM. The goal is to dry the outer leaves as quickly as possible, without over drying the inside of the flowers. Leaf Crisping typically takes 1-3 hours depending on strain, and the moisture level of the flowers prior to crisping. Leaf Crisping is complete when all of the outer leaves break when disturbed and do not bend. If the product takes longer than a minute or so to trim in the Ez Trimmer, then the leaves are still too wet.
